Grounds Maintenance Laborer

Summary AJANTA CONSULTING, LLC Sardis, MSThe Laborer, Grounds Maintenance maintains grounds of industrial, commercial or public property such as but not limited to:
buildings, camp and picnic grounds, parks, playgrounds, greenhouses, and athletic fields, and repairs structures and equipment, performing the following tasks:
cut grass, using walking-type or riding mowers, trim hedges and edges around walks, flowerbeds, and wells, using hedge trimmers, clippers and edging tools, prunes shrubs and trees to shape and improve growth, using shears and other hand tools, sprays lawn, shrubs, and trees with fertilizer or insecticide.
Responsibilities
The use of a variety of hand tools to spread dirt, gravel, or sand; dig holes and trenches; dress excavated areas; erect signs and guard rails; cutting trees, shrubs, grass, weeds, and other vegetation; and cleaning structures and equipment.

The lifting and/or carrying of heavy objects such as riprap stone, boxes, and machinery weighing up to 80 pounds.

The assistance of higher skilled levels by carrying materials and supplies, building simple objects and forms, and performing necessary heavy manual labor associated with the activity requiring the higher skilled levels.

The use of a variety of hand tools common to manual labor such as picks, shovels, tamps, wheelbarrows, chainsaws, rakes, and brooms.

The cleaning of equipment, buildings, recreation facilities, structures, and grounds.

Maintains and repairs fencing to include but not limited to:
chain link and barbed wire.

Ensures work orders when complete are properly filled out and returned to work management
Supports the project Safety Plan through personal involvement in all aspects of safety, including training and attention to the adherence to safety requirements pertaining to particular trades or skills.

This position has been designated as Mission Critical.
Mission Critical personnel are defined as those required to meet the Installations safety (including inclement weather) and security needs during lockdown conditions.

This position may be part of an emergency management/response team as required by the company to meet contract requirements
Operate all equipment in accordance with EM 385-1-1.

Other duties as assigned Qualifications
High School Diploma or GED equivalent
Valid state driver license OR commercially licensed (CDL)
Minimum three (3) years experience preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Demonstrated ability to work with hands and knowledge of methods, materials, tools, and practices used in the field.

Demonstrated knowledge of the occupational hazards and safety precautions of the trades involved.

Demonstrated skill in the care and use of the tools and equipment in the trades involved
Ability lift and/or move up to 80 pounds.
